Most of Edward & Sons Trading Co. products have been certified organic by Quality Assurance International (QAI), a USDA-accredited certifying agency. Each organic ingredient in our products has been grown and processed with no chemical or synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. In addition, all of our ingredients are known to be free of genetically modified organisms.

In addition to abstaining from the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, the goal of organic farming is sustainability. Fields are fertilized and strengthened through composting, cover cropping, and crop rotation. Sustainable, organic farming helps maintain the soil as a healthy, living entity, capable of producing healthy, nutritious crops year after year.

Most people might not know this but conventional agriculture is this country's biggest polluter. The use of chemical fertilizers over the last 70 years has injected excessive nitrogen into so much of this country's water supply, that we can only drink out of 30% of our bodies of water. In addition, the groundwater in 38 states has already been ruined and half of our country's soil has eroded because of the use of conventional agricultural methods.

There are many links between conventional agricultural practices and cancer, both as a result of spraying carcinogenic pesticides into the air and from ruined groundwater sources from farm runoff.

Why do we have to pollute our land in order to grow our food? We don't! Organic, sustainable farming does not pollute Earth. Rather it creates better soil conditions and hope for the future of Mother Earth.
